Consolidated life support education day

R G Kar Medical College

The photographs show our very well recieved educational day for consolidation of life support. This was held in RG Kar Medical College on 26/12/18 and conducted by Dr.Debkumar Pandit, Consultant Anesthetist with special interest in intensive care medicine, UK. Most participants were post graduate students and some interns also attended. Since this event there has been keen interest expressed for similar events by the Nursing tutors for the benefit of their students.

It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you that Dr. Jitendra Kumar Kanjilal our Chairman and Founder member, passed away peacefully at his home after suffering ill health for the last few years. The members of R.G. Kar Appeal fund wish to express their deepest affection and support for his family. His presence, quiet manner and hard work on behalf of the charity that he supported for over 25 years will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.

HEPATITIS B immunisation programme 2000-2018

The hepatitiis B immunisation programme has been running in Kolkata since 2000 and so far the unsung hero of this charity until now!. Donations from the public has facilitated provision of free immunisation for medical students and nursing students in Kolkata. Initially only medical students at RG Kar Medical College were immunised but after the first year by popular demand the programme was extended to include all the medical colleges. Since 2015 this need for immunisation has been met by local government and the charity has extended this service to nursing students
